It’s time to unplug!

Did you know that being that plugged in is bad for your heart, your sleep, your psyche, and your mood?

Being accessible all of the time can put you on edge. That increases production on adrenaline and cortisol, stress hormones that cause your blood pressure to rise. High blood pressure increases your chances of heart attack and stroke.

With the increasing reliance on technology, we have also seen an increase in insomnia. The blue light that’s emitted from the screen of a television or computer suppresses the production of melatonin from the pineal gland in the brain. Without this important hormone, your body can’t fall alseep. And we all know, that if you aren’t sleeping enough hours, then you will have trouble losing weight. YIKES!

The solution: 2 parts:

1. Get outside during the day for some real light – sunshine!

2. Turn it of at least 1 hour before bedtime. No tv, no computer, no i-phone, no Blackberry.
