What’s your Mantra?

Do you have a Mantra?

In Hinduism, a mantra is a sacred verbal formula repeated in prayer, meditation, or incantation, such as an invocation of a g-d, a magic spell, or a syllable or portion of scripture containing mystical potentialities. (from dictionary.com).

In my life and in my work, I’ve taken the word mantra and tweaked the meaning to be a word or phrase that serves as your own tool for motivation and purpose. A word that you can call upon at any time of your life that can act as a focus to guide you or as a place of safety.

I read one today that said, “Life is a mirror, Be sure to smile.” I liked that one because it’s so true. If you smile at a stranger, you might make their day. If you smile at your child, they see that as a sign of love. If you smile at your partner, you remind them of your special connection. If you’re feeling down or stressed and force yourself to smile, it does actually make you feel better.
