Are you a runner? Well, whether you are a hardcore enthusiast or an occasional walker/runner, give yourself a “RUN FOR ME” day each week.
As a coach, I usually do not prescribe running for my clients, for a host of reasons. I am typically concerned with overuse injuries, and how long term extended runs can tear down the muscular look of your legs. However, a “RUN FOR ME” isn’t about fitness, or achieving a certain look. A “RUN FOR ME” is a two to three mile brisk paced moment in time where you can let loose and relieve your stress. It is a time when you can grab your ipod and listen to your “theme song” (that article is coming later this week) and literally set yourself free. You do not include it in your journal for training or even cardio. This isn’t cardio and it isnt for fitness. It is an emotional ride for you to enjoy and to embrace.
The “RUN FOR ME” is great for those of you who work alot of hours, and give and give and give 24/7. Sound familiar?
I always tell my clients who are teachers, Moms, nurses and “givers” to take part in a “RUN FOR ME”. Some have told me that they run and bust out a “primal scream” every few minutes. Afterward, they feel a sort of cleansing of mind, body and spirit.
So whether you are a runner or not, try the “RUN FOR ME”. Two to three miles that are all about YOU!
Try it and set your play list to specific songs that inspire you. The last song should be your theme song. We will talk about that topic later this week!
We run this ladies…. rock it out!
