We go back a long time – a really long time – like 40+ years! You may not know this about us, but we’re cousins! We grew up in a close-knit family with a grandmother that we just adored. Before we knew we wanted to pursue a career in nutrition, fitness, and wellness, we were being taught all about good nutrition and clean eating by our grandmother. She liked to call herself the original dietitian! From as far back as we can remember, we couldn’t wait to spend the night at our grandparent’s house as she nourished our bodies with clean, freshly-made meals, as well as our souls with the quality time we would spend together.
Fast-forward almost twenty years and we find that we both pursued the same career path and became Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs). Our careers took a back seat as we became moms. Between us, we have 7 kids! What’s even funnier, is that our first-born sons share the same birthday, just two years apart!
Motherhood is such an important job. There’s nothing more difficult, frustrating, and rewarding than being a mom. But as our children grew, we knew that we needed to continue to nourish that part of us that made us tick – our passion for helping others achieve their health and wellness goals.
U Rock Girl
In 2009, we decided that we needed to take our passion and expertise and bring it to a larger audience. We talked and talked for hours and finally, U Rock Girl was born! We spent countless hours writing nutrition, fitness, and wellness articles, as well as developing nutritious and delicious recipes. In 2014, we published our first cookbook, “No Excuses! 50 Healthy Ways to ROCK Breakfast!”
Over the past few years, we’ve been able to reach a much larger audience by writing for such well-known magazines as Clean Eating and Oxygen, as well as the American Council for Exercise (ACEfitness.org). We are quoted in numerous on-line health magazines and websites and speak to numerous organizations about nutrition, fitness, and wellness.
As the dietitians for Clean Eating magazine, we have been busy with our latest endeavor that will help you achieve lasting weight loss and improve your health and well-being. Our revolutionary new program, “A Whole Life Guide to Lasting Weight Loss” is not just another diet. It’s a complete lifestyle program that will change you from the inside out. No cookie-cutter diets here. It’s an all-access pass to us as your personal health coaches!
